There are several opportunities over
the next few weeks to volunteer and serve our
community as an event photographer. Be sure to
check out the calendar section of this
newsletter for the dates and
details.
This month's field trip is scheduled
for the Melbourne Air & Space Show,
Saturday, March 24, and we plan to meet at 10:00
am. We hope to see you
there.

Bring
5-7 photos from recent events or
any other pictures you would like to
share. Be
sure to use a labeled folder with the date on a
thumb drive and rename the photo files
with your initials and
a number (ex: PR-1, PR-2, etc.) for the
photos you want to share. This will make
it easier for our
projectionist.
If
you have photos that you would like help with,
bring them with you! If there is
time, our club members can give you
pointers on what to do.

City
Hall Gallery Entries
Due
March 21
Our theme
for the next round of photos in City Hall is
"Four Legged Friends." The
deadline for submissions is March
21, 2018, at
midnight.
The Oviedo
Photo Club has proudly displayed photographs in
the Oviedo City Hall since
2014. Our
curator will select five new photos for City
Hall. The five oldest photos in City Hall
will be moved to the Annex building to replace
five of the photos there.
Submissions
are handled via Dropbox. Send an email to
the club to let us know you wish to
participate. You will be provided a link
to a Dropbox folder to upload your photos.
All files submitted should be suitable for
printing a 11 x 14 print. All photos will
be renamed to be anonymous and submitted to our
curator for the selection process. You
will receive a confirmation email after the
photos are renamed and submitted so you can
verify they have all been provided to the
curator. If your photograph is selected,
there is a $25 printing and matting charge.
All photos will be printed by the club for
a consistent appearance and returned to you in
the mat after they have been displayed in City
Hall and the Annex building.

Our March field trip
is a visit to the Melbourne Air & Space
Show.
The US Air Force
Thunderbirds, B-2 Stealth Bomber, stunt aircraft, P-51
Quicksilver Mustang, vintage aircraft, and
exhibits plan to be there. Gates open at
9:00 am. Admission is $19.75 for adults
and $10.75 for children. There is a Photo Pit
Pass available as well as a VIP
area.

Low Light

Are
you afraid of the dark? Do you find yourself
passing on photographing events or interesting
subjects due to less then stellar lighting
conditions? Join us in April for a presentation
on low light photography. Come learn how member
Erin Monroe shoots in low lighting conditions.
This presentation will focus on using available
light to achieve artful
imagery.
Frederic K will then tell us the who,
what and why to photograph at events. He
will also demonstrate how to upload, edit the
photo details such as copyright information and
move photos to Event Galleries on
Zenfolio.

with resetting the time on all cars, watches,
appliances, and other devices don't forget to
reset the clock in your camera. It's also
a good time to check that the year on your
copyright is also
correct.

Show your club spirit by adding our
club logo to your shirts, hats or bags.
You can order shirts and other items
in
several styles and colors from
Atticus Printing or bring in something you
already own so they can embroider the club logo
on it for a small
fee.
